How to Change your IP Address

There are several reasons why you want to change your IP address. Fortunately, this is something the end user can usually be accomplished without great effort. The exact steps may vary depending on how the system is in place. Here are some basic instructions for most popular systems.

Try this first

Before going into details on operating systems that you can try one of these two approaches. First, solve your cable modem or DSL for a few minutes. Five minutes is usually sufficient to cause the IP address to verify that you reset the connection if the modem and turn on the device. When five minutes is not the trick, try leaving the modem from a night unplugged. This has a good chance in a number of cases. However, this is not a general solution.

Windows

Click on Start, then Run, then enter CMD. This will provide room to enter the phrase “ipconfig/release.” Do not include the quotation marks. After the system accepts this command, enter the phrase “ipconfig/renew.”

An alternative to try in Windows to turn off the computer after entering the “ipconfig/release” command. Keeping the system at night, so you can disable safely, Ethernet and cable respectively. DSL modems. When you turn the system the following morning, the IP address must be reset.

Network with Router

Connect to the administration console on the router. Follow the instructions to release the IP address. It is set according to the guidelines, which the router manufacturer. Turn the router Ethernet and modem, and leave everything overnight. Once the system came back the next morning, the IP address must be reset.

If all else fails

If you do not try to change the IP address, there can always contact your service provider and asking them to change your IP address to an end. This process may normally in a relatively short time, or service providers can be achieved, can you specific instructions on how to obtain the IP address that the provider is a unique combination change.
