5 eBay selling tips for beginners

Posted by Westhill in Business on 06 29th, 2009 | no responses

I am of this article to those just starting their business manager of eBay sales. If you sell books, DVDs, CDs, collectibles and clothing, everything (with the exception of books and electronic services) must be sent by e-mail. And the shipping, handling and mailing costs, which seems to be a great anxiety among the newcomers.

You’ve heard of the Council – not too much for shipping. This is very good, in fact, nothing out of potential buyers and sellers who gouge you on shipping. There is also a practice that continued until the bath Rack comment.

But I’m playing devil’s advocate here and suggest you do not go overboard and make much of a break in shipping, which is chipping away at its profits. It is well to remember the “hidden costs” of navigation: break your bubble wrap, tape, shipping envelopes, boxes, etc.

You might think that I am not cheap, but if all your costs eBay for years (as some of his most recent tax). You may be surprised to see how the packing and gas for your car, and added a small piece of eBay profits. And believe me, which aligned.

Some people are even more surprised to underestimate the weight of the packages, which reduce their profits even more.

How can it be fair to you and your customers?

1. Buy a scale. Sounds simple, but the purchase of a scale, you can create a package in the shipping industry. If you just eyeballing the weight of the package, you can often guess too low, and through a shock when you look at the post office and the package will cost twice what it expected to ship.

2. Learn about the dimensions of the containers before announcing the topic. Some packages may cost more to ship due to its size. Knowing the weight alone is not enough.

3. Give the purchaser a variety of shipping methods. Some prefer fast delivery by express mail, while some prefer to save the shipping package, even if the wait is longer. It is always a good idea to use parcel post or otherwise slower ground shipping to the buyer by email that are somewhere in 8-10 days.

4. Saving money wherever possible through the use of the boxes that were used. Most stores are more than happy to rummage through their old pictures and some to take home. But you realize that the selection box presentable, safe and strong enough for your items. And if you can spare no break in the bubble wrap.

5. Enjoy a small processing fee, for their expenditures. Some add on service-an additional $ 1 or $ 2 for shipping charges for the payment of fees (cost of the case and the amount of packaging to be used). I really have to do it because their costs are, if you have a lot of selling on eBay. Make sure beforehand that the buyer has a small processing fee, so you do not have later.

Just for you and your buyer will also be happy, and keep more of their earnings in their pocket.
